Only a few months ago I was at the Autosport International show fondling a set of V-Maxx coilovers, deciding whether I should take the plunge and get them for the Fabia.
Sadly, their UK website was under construction whilst V-Maxx in Holland sorted out a new UK distributor for their range of sports suspension, lowering kits, lowering springs with uprated dampers / shock absorbers and height adjustable coilovers.
Ranting about the world at large can be a full time job so it’s always nice when someone offers to lend a hand and has the same kind of views and opinions as you.
Bullshit introductions aside, I’d like to welcome mattysmash to Jofftastic. I’m sure his words will keep you entertained for at least a few minutes.
Mattysmash (or just plain ‘Matt’ to his Mum) is lead designer at one of Peterborough’s newest web design agencies, Ninethirty Creative. In a city where dire web agencies have had it their way for too long, Ninethirty are going to separate the monkeys from the men (cue macho grunting and chest beating).

You probably thought that IKEA’s naming convention for their products was a random procedure whereby an untrained chimp would choose a word from a Scandinavian dictionary but no, it’s a lot more structured than that.
In Nancy Friedman’s blog, she discusses the revelation into how chairs and desks are given male names, with curtains and materials being given female names.
It doesn’t end there though, every product is meticulously grouped and assigned a name from a particular source.
There’s nothing the public like more than picking up on other people’s failings as a human being and lying to get yourself onto national TV… well, Big Brother… has got to be up there with the likes of murder, robbery and stealing the gifts out of the middle of crackers on Xmas day.
So when I turned over to watch E4 and saw big Scot John Loughton being controlled by Matt Lucas I thought it might be worth watching for at least a few minutes. Just a few minutes later a new housemate enters and it’s self-proclaimed “entrepreneur” 19 year old Liam Young from Liverpool.
It’s now been 24 hours since the redesigned HotUKDeals website was launched and now I’ve had time to get acquainted with the new layout I must say it’s not all that bad.
Whilst the users on the HUKD forums are berating about being ignored in such a radical change, the guys behind the site have been firefighting a number of technical issues and it now appears that the site is working without error.
Leading UK “deal anarchist” website, HotUKDeals has launched it’s redesign website to mixed reaction.
The site which Quidco-founder Paul Nikkel had a hand in running, is a community driven website discussing the latest and greatest deals, special offers and mispriced items for sale online and on the High Street.
I’m not convinced the move was a particularly good one for a number of reasons:
rssHugger is an interesting new website concept designed to bring likeminded bloggers and readers together, helping visitors to find blogs on subjects of interest.
For a tiny one-off payment of $20, you get a page on rssHugger for 10 years. If you write a post on your blog about rssHugger then it’s halved to $10 – for those in the UK, that’s only £4.97! At that price you can’t afford to not be part of it.
I’ve been noticing more and more recently that the quality of what you would call a “hot uk deal” has been lacking, with typical offers giving no more than free delivery or a miserable 2% discount.
David Fiske commented on the end of voucher codes recently but I believe the problem is more widespread than being limited to just the voucher code offer model.
