Actually, S. Smith, the “any lenght” I choose to take is mainly to walk or get the bus. I only ride my bike if I am going somewhere that I can get to mainly by bike. However, where I live there isn’t a bike path until you have gone a fair distance. I don’t ride if there are a lot of people around (in such circumstances OF COURSE I would walk and push my bike. I don’t know what gave you the impression that no other options occurred to me and assumed the statement ‘every length’ would have covered it.

Lilith Claire, you say that you hate cycling on the pavement and will go to “any length to avoid it”. No other options occur to you? Getting off and pushing your bike along the pavement when you get to a bit of road you consider dangerous, maybe??

Here here! I hate riding my bike on the pavement and go to every length to avoid this but I simply DO NOT FEEL SAFE on the roads. Too many reckless drivers for my liking. The bike paths in the city, are great in some areas but desperately inadequate in others. Don’t even get me started on PCC!!
