Every web designer loses sleep when it comes to choosing a web host. How do you know the most expensive is going to be the best for your business – is the cheapest cheap for a reason or are they just damn good value?
A search for web hosting reviews returns nearly 270,000 results in Google UK and nearly 3 million if searching with Google.com! To make matters worse, new web hosts pop up every day making your job of finding a suitable hosting company even more difficult.
I’ve recently been searching for dedicated hosting, looking for a Linux host that can do everything I need it to and also provide me with a nice friendly control panel as I’d rather keep out of the operating system wherever possible! A dedicated server will hopefully give the stability and flexibility I need without the overhead of other user’s sites sapping my precious resources – something that may still be an issue with the VPS option.

I’ve tried lots of UK hosting companies and a variety of products, including VPS (with which I’ve had nothing but troubles – daily reboots, mail servers clogging up, etc..) I always go back to Fasthosts. very reasonable dedicated servers about £50/£60 per month but unlimited bandwidth with a 10mbps connections… worth looking at.
