Brackmills Northampton is on fire

News just in – Brackmills, Northampton is on fire!

I’ve had several calls from friends working in the area around Caswell Road and apparently the blaze is massive.

According to the Chron, a 60,000 sq ft factory is up in smoke:

The blaze, which could be seen from several miles away, broke out just after 2pm at Garrard Waters, a flooring company based in Caswell Road.

Early signs suggest an aerosol in the plant may have split and the flames come into contact with one of the factory boilers triggering a massive explosion.

Can you see the fire from where you are?  Let me know, post a comment below!

Has anyone else suffered damage to the undercarriage of their car as a result of having to drive over one of the fire brigades metal hose pipes? No sign warning drivers that damage may occur or any road closure. Was not rubber necking, have to make the journey twice a day along with a lot of other commuters. Mechanic confirms damage caused to exhaust and catalytic converter, Fire Brigade say prove it!!

I damaged my undercarriage driving over one of those also! I went over to the fire station afterwards and they were more than helpful and said it happens all the time. They told me just to send them a copy of the invoice, along with approx date and time the damage was caused, and I should get compensation within 7 days. They even made me a cup of tea whilst giving me the details of where to send the claim to… maybe you just caught them on a bad day?

What dumb-ass would drive over one of these pipes, the fire service were trying to put out a massive fire, and all you can be worried about is how to get your car over the pipe, lets face it if the pipe is across the road, it’s as good as shut. If it was your house on fire and some idiot drove over the pipe and it damaged or burst the pipe then how would you feel if they couldn’t put out the fire, not only should they pay for the damage – they should fine you – IDIOT.

Hey buddy, I was driving home from work when I damaged my car! It was a cul-de-sac, so what was I meant to do? Camp at work for 3 days? IDIOT.
