The Banyan Tree Website

I’ve mentioned The Banyan Tree earlier on this blog, but for new readers all you need to know is that it’s the best Indian restaurant in Peterborough. Next to the Cock Inn in Werrington to be precise.

Their new website is now live and at a glance is one of the best websites I’ve seen for a restaurant – well, would you expect anything less from the Banyan Tree?

On peeling back the layers however, it’s not 100% perfect with a couple of broken links to a hotel gallery (?) with thumbnails showing a random restaurant and bedroom.

That aside, the Banyan Tree website design is wonderfully minimal and clean without bombarding the visitor with images of curry and rice dishes.

The only things I feel are missing from the site are the menu and details of their delivery service – I know that’s the first thing I look for in a restaurant website.

Overall it’s good to see that an Indian restaurant in Peterborough is leading the way rather than playing catch up with it’s rivals.  A lot of other restaurants could learn a lot from these guys.

To all the team at the Banyan Tree – Have a great New Year and keep up the good work!

The Banyan Tree in Westgate is superb – all the qualities of Werrington but on a bigger scale. Clean lines with uncomplicated, fresh interior decor and the familiar tantalising menu. Oh, and don’t forget the Indian Sauvignon Blanc – Sula – crisp, dry and almost spicy on the palate and excellent with the food. There’s apparently an article in the ET tonight. Happy Dining and enjoy!
