Audi LED headlights aren’t loved by all
November 12th, 2007 Posted in automotive, webSeems not everyone is as impressed by Audi’s aggressive LED sidelights/running lights as I am.
Only last month I posted on Audi LED headlights guessing that they were set to become the next big thing in the automotive world but I completely missed Autocar.co.uk’s Deputy Editor Rory Lumsdon giving his scathing opinion on them on his blog.
They are the expensive equivalent of the inappropriately-used foglights beloved of Saxo VTS drivers in baseball caps.
In it, Rory writes how the lights are vulgar and are the upmarket equivalent of boy racers with their fog lights on in the middle of summer.
With many criticising Audi’s styling of late being understated and a little bland in places when compared to BMW’s current fleet, I feel the driving lights give the range a bit of aggression. Who wouldn’t move over when a 2.0 FSi A4 comes up behind you with it’s LED eyeliner in full show.
Maybe the lights are better suited to the R8 and RS models but I’m betting that whatever the model, hardly any drivers choose to turn LED lights off.
