Free Pixel Ads

As far as Google are concerned, or at least as far as some people would like you to think, paid links are bad and their use results in you being blacklisted and physically violated by the big G.

Personally, I don’t think that the odd paid-for link can be that bad. After all businesses have paid for their advertising in the real world for hundreds of years and some media rely on advertising revenue for their income.

If Google discounted the value of a paid-for (or even free) link such as a pixel ad, then fine but to blacklist a website would be a dangerous game for them to play when the quality of their SERPs is already a sore subject for some criteria.

Million Pixel homepages are nothing new. The concept involves you paying for a few squares of screen space with the view to driving traffic to your website. I’m currently giving The Million Pixel Homepage a whirl to see how their business model holds up.
